MIRA’S PIZZA, MCKINNEY, TX

The circular shape of pizza was repeated on the two available accent walls. The idea was to make these circles appear as part of the wall, to achieve this concrete plaster was used on the wall and on the MDF circles. This served dual purpose of making the circles appear as if they were cast in concrete, and the concrete look stayed in line with the use of raw material in the client finished kitchen. Some quarters from the wall circle resembling the logo were further painted in glossy red color again inspired from the logo colors. The intention was to create a graphic mural that would bring instant interest while communicating the purpose of the space. The logo shape was further extended to the serving counter where it serves as open shelving for pizza boxes. The two accent walls along with the pizza slice shaped open shelf of the serving counter together help give subtle but unique identity to such a small space.
